Light: Will thrive in a range of sun exposures. Anywhere from full sun, which is 6 hours or more, to part sun, which is a minimum of 4 hours.Soil: Any well-drained soil or any pH will do. It benefits from being planted in fertile soil that stays cool. A layer of mulch can help keep the roots insulated.Water: Has average water needs.Fertilizing: Nothing special is required. You can apply a granular fertilizer formulated for woody plants in early spring if you know your soil is poor or if it appears that the plant is growing less vigorously.Pruning: Not required; naturally grows as a dense ball. If you wish to give it a tighter appearance, soft growth may be trimmed lightly in late spring/early summer, once the new growth for the season has emerged.
