PERFECTO MUNDO® Double Purple Azalea

Light: Perfecto Mundo Double Purple azalea has the healthiest foliage and flowers most prolifically in sites with part sun – all day dappled light or morning sun with afternoon shade. Soil: Prefers acidic soils that stay evenly moist, but with good drainage. Water: Likes to be kept on the moist side, but not soggy. Fertilizing: Like all azaleas, Perfecto Mundo Double Purple benefits from an application of fertilizer to the soil surface every season. A newly planted azalea doesn’t require fertilizing in its first season, as the soil mix contains plenty of fertilizer. Starting the next year, apply an all-purpose flowering shrub fertilizer in late winter/early spring when the soil becomes workable, another after the spring bloom, and one more in late May/early June. Pruning: It isn’t necessary to prune Perfecto Mundo azaleas, but a trim after the spring bloom will increase the abundance of rebloom if desired. This trim encourages new growth, which will bloom more prolifically. Other: Perfecto Mundo Double Purple azalea has shown improved lacebug resistance.
