Be sure to water from below when possible.Fertilizing: Apply a granular rose fertilizer in late winter/early spring when the soil is workable and again in late spring to give the plant a boost for rebloom.Pruning: When to prune Rise Up Lilac Days rose: Pruning is recommended in early spring. How to prune Rise Up Lilac Days rose: Remove weak branches in the middle and half or more of the height; you can remove canes at the base if you wish to control the width as well. Make cuts just about 1/4 of an inch above a bud. Dead or damaged wood can be removed at any time; just cut back to a set of leaves.Other: It can be used as a cut flower! For its longest vase life, cut vertically up the stem about 2″. This will help it absorb more water.
