Light: Needs full sun exposure to grow robustly, this is a minimum of six hours a day.Soil: Any well-drained soil will do – dry, sandy soils are fine. Absolutely will not thrive in wet soils. Water: Average to very low water needs as it’s rather drought tolerant once established. Fertilizing: Little to none needed. If your soil is poor or you’re growing it in a container, apply a granular fertilizer for trees and shrubs once in early spring. Pruning: Seldom needed. May be selectively pruned as and if needed. Try to hide cuts that you make behind a puff of foliage to keep the carefree aesthetic of the plant.
