Light: Full to part sun, this is a minimum of four hours of direct exposure to the sun. In warmer climates or areas where the sun exposure is more intense, site it in a spot that gets some afternoon shade. Soil: Grows best in evenly moist, well-drained soils. However, mock orange is fairly adaptable and will perform well in most soils. Water: Average water needs. Fertilizing: Nothing special required. If desired, apply a granular fertilizer formulated for flowering woody plants in late winter/early spring when the soil is workable. Pruning: While old varieties of mock orange frequently become big and unruly, Proven Winners ColorChoice mock oranges are specifically selected for their tidy habits and well-behaved nature so need little to no pruning. They bloom on old wood, so if you wish to prune your mock orange, do so after it flowers.
